Grocery Shopping the Perimeter of the Store

What Jack LaLanne meant was to avoid sugary, high fat foods that may lead to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and every other serious disease that we in western society need to worry about.

The more raw fruits and veggies we eat, the better we will feel.

A good rule of thumb is to do the bulk of your grocery shopping around the perimeter of the store and less in the aisles.

Much less in the aisles.

Foods in the aisles are filled with hydrogenated oils, added sugars, and preservatives with names only a PhD-level chemist can pronounce.

Even if they say they aren’t filled with those harmful ingredients, false advertising is all around us, so just assume aisle foods are filled with ‘said’ harmful ingredients.

And a fun fact for you… did you know Jack LaLanne graduated from chiropractic school once upon a time? Well, now you know!
